EURORAI Management Committee meeting in Santiago de Compostela

At its meeting held on 4 May 2023 in Santiago de Compostela, the Management Committee of EURORAI approved the joining of the Court of Audit of Saarland as full member. With this membership the courts of audit of 14 of the 16 federate states into which Germany is divided are part of EURORAI.

Moreover, the Management Committee approved also the annual accounts for 2022 submitted by the General Secretariat and discussed the current financial situation of the Association and the outstanding membership fees

The following issues were discussed at the meeting as well:

a) The preparations with respect to the activities planned for 2024:

– The seminar on the audits conducted by regional audit institutions related to climate change and its challenges, event which will be held on 24 May 2024 in the Austrian city of Graz.

– The seminar on the theme “Regional public sector audit institutions – guardians of democracy”, event which will be held in September in Brussels at the representation office of the Federate State of Hessen before the EU.

b) The continued cooperation with the EUROSAI Task Force on Municipality Audit.

Other matters dealt with at the meeting included the changes in the composition of the Management Committee, where a new member and alternate member have been appointed in what concerns the member country Austria as well as a new full member for the member country France.

The next meeting of the Management Committee will be held during the second semester of this year.
