28/04/2021

Most important decisions adopted at the EURORAI Management Committee meeting held online on 23 April 2021

At its last meeting, which due to the still ongoing pandemic was held by videoconference on April 23rd 2021, the EURORAI Management Committee approved the joining as associate member of the Jersey Audit Office.

Moreover, the Management Committee approved also the Annual Accounts 2019 and 2020, which were submitted by the General Secretariat, and discussed the current financial situation of the Association and the outstanding membership fees.

In what concerns the payment of the membership fee for the current year, the committee decided to wait and see if the seminar planned in Sarajevo can finally take place before adopting any decision on whether or not ask member institutions for the payment of the fee and its amount.

The following subjects were also discussed at the meeting:

a) The completely newly designed EURORAI website, which is now fully operational;

b) The preliminaries concerning the activities planned for 2021 and 2022:

– The seminar on the theme “Value and benefits of regional external public sector audit institutions” (the topic will probably be extended to include a reference to the COVID-19 pandemic), an activity initially scheduled for September 2020 which, if the conditions allow, will be held now in October/November 2021 in Sarajevo. A final decision on the concrete date will be taken before the summer holidays.

– The seminar on the theme “Public sector audit in times of digital changes – the mastering of external and internal challenges” which was initially scheduled to take place in May 2020, then postponed to May 2021 and will finally be held on 20 May 2022 in Frankfurt/Main.

– The 11th EURORAI Congress including the General Assembly of Members, which will  take place in October 2022 on the Balearic Islands.

c) The results of the survey started in December 2020 by the General Secretariat on the measures implemented by EURORAI member institutions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and the decision of whether or not to set up a working group on the subject matter; and

d) The further cooperation with the EUROSAI Task Force on Municipality Audit.

Other matters dealt with at the meeting included the changes in the composition of the Management Committee where new alternate members will be appointed very soon in what concerns the member countries Germany, France and Spain.

The next committee meeting will probably take place in October/November 2021 in Sarajevo on the eve of the next EURORAI seminar.
