EURORAI Management Committee meeting in Frankfurt/Main

Most important decisions adopted at the EURORAI Management Committee meeting held on 19 May 2022 in Frankfurt/Main
At its last meeting, held on May 19th 2022 in Frankfurt/Main, the EURORAI Management Committee approved the joining as associate member of the Association of Comptrollers for Local Authorities in Lithuania. The association had already been granted observer status in EURORAI in 2006.
Moreover, the Management Committee approved also the Annual Accounts 2021, which were submitted by the General Secretariat, and discussed the current financial situation of the Association and the outstanding membership fees.
In what concerns the payment of the membership fee for the current year, the General Secretariat will soon call on members to make this payment.
The following subjects were discussed at the meeting as well:
a) The updating of the fact sheets of member institutions, information which can be found on the EURORAI website;
b) The preliminaries concerning the 11th EURORAI Congress including the General Assembly of Members, which will take place from 19 to 22 October 2022 in Palma de Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. In this context, the General Secretariat will also call on member institutions soon so that they submit proposals of activities for the 2023-2025 working programme, along with the corresponding commitment to carry them out, if adopted;
c) The decision not to set up a working group on the measures implemented by EURORAI member institutions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic; and
d) The further cooperation with the EUROSAI Task Force on Municipality Audit.
Last but not least, the situation of the member institutions from the Russian Federation was also discussed within the framework of the deliberations on the next Congress and General Assembly. The Management Committee decided to follow until the holding of the General Assembly the same line of action in the spirit of the EURORAI Management Committee’s statement on the situation in Ukraine, document which was adopted at an extraordinary meeting held last 11th March 2022. Until then, the committee will follow closely the development of the situation and will reassess it, if needed.
The next Management Committee meeting will take place on 19th October 2022 in Palma de Mallorca on the eve of the 11th EURORAI Congress.
