Presentation of EURORAI to the board of the European Centre of Employers and Enterprises providing Public Services (CEEP) on 14 November 2017 in Brussels 

In response to the invitation of the European Centre of Employers and Enterprises providing Public Services (CEEP), Christian Melly participated as representative of EURORAI in a meeting of the Public Services Board of the CEEP on 14 November 2017 in Brussels.

The CEEP ensures the representation of enterprises with public participation and enterprises of general economic interest at Community level. In this respect the CEEP is officially recognized as social partner by the European Commission. The CEEP now comprises members coming from 22 different States.

During the session of the board of the CEEP, Christian Melly delivered a presentation of EURORAI, as well as about the objectives and actions of regional audit institutions. Using the example of the Financial Inspectorate of the Canton of Valais, Christian Melly made a presentation on the activities concerning local public-sector enterprises, in particular, the area relating to agencies supported by the Canton. Finally, Christian Melly emphasized the importance of public sector financial control with complete independence and autonomy in order to ensure the good management of public funds.

Following the presentation made by Christian Melly, there was an extensive and participatory debate and the board of the CEEP will allow the necessary time to address the many questions raised.
