EURORAI Management Committee meeting in Linz

At its meeting held on March 11th 2016 in Linz at the invitation of the Court of Audit of Upper Austria, the EURORAI Management Committee approved the joining as full members of the Court of Audit of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Regional Audit Chamber of Nord – Pas de Calais, Picardy. The latter is due to the exhaustive restructuring of the regions in France which has also consequences for EURORAI: one regional audit chamber member of the Association stops to exist (the RAC of Alsace) and four regional audit chambers members of the Association change their status and as a result of this change as well their name, geographical remit and partly also their seat.

Moreover, the Committee approved the Annual Accounts 2015, which were submitted by the General Secretariat and adopted with just a few modifications the final draft of the guidelines for independent regional public sector audit institutions, which had been prepared by the working group.

The following subjects were also discussed at the meeting:

  • The outstanding membership fees for the year 2015;
  • The preliminaries concerning the activities planned for 2016:
    • A seminar to be held from 28 to 30 April 2016 in St. Pölten (Austria) where the abovementioned guidelines for independent regional public sector audit institutions will be presented together with good practices concerning individual principles set out in the guidelines;
    • The 9th EURORAI Congress including the General Assembly of Members, which will take place from 19 to 22 October 2016 in Nantes (France). In preparation of the General Assembly, at the beginning of April the General Secretariat will call on all member institutions to submit to the Management Committee proposals for activities for the 2017-2019 working programme.
Finally, at the meeting the committee also dealt with the matter of the current changes in the composition of the Management Committee. The new substitute member for Spain will be the President of the Audit Office of the Canary Islands, José Rafael Díaz Martínez.

The next Management Committee meeting will take place on 19th October 2016 in Nantes on the eve of the 9th EURORAI Congress.
